Tour en L'air is a body of hand-cut paper sculptures. Structures emerged through cutting, folding, twisting, a process of obsession and meditation for the artist. The series title Tour en L'air translate to 'Turn in the air'. It is a term used for a movement where a dancer jumps straight upwards and completes at least one full revolution in the air before landing. As these forms spiral, the layered textures contained within create an moiré effect illusion. Echoing a search for order and stillness.
